Guide to post on wordpress blog website
About Lesson
  1. Using the Block Editor: This is the default editor in WordPress and offers a visual interface for creating posts and pages. Here’s a simplified rundown:

    • Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
    • Navigate to “Posts” -> “Add New” (for a new blog post) or “Pages” -> “Add New” (for a new page).
    • You’ll see a block editor where you can directly type your text, add headings, images, videos, and other elements using pre-designed blocks.
    • Once your content is ready, scroll down to the document settings area (often located on the right sidebar).
    • Depending on your setup, you might see a dedicated section for “Yoast SEO” or “All in One SEO” where you can add a captivating title and description for your post (explained in detail below).
    • Once you’re happy with the content and SEO aspects, click “Publish” to make your post live on your website.
  2. Using the Classic Editor (if enabled): This is the older editor option in WordPress with a text-based interface. If your admin dashboard offers this option, the steps are similar:

    • Navigate to “Posts” -> “Add New” or “Pages” -> “Add New.”
    • You’ll see a text box where you can type your content directly in HTML format (or plain text).
    • Similar to the block editor, you’ll likely find an SEO section at the bottom where you can add a title and description.
    • After creating the content and adding SEO details, click “Publish” to make it public.

Adding an SEO Description (Important):

An SEO description, also known as a meta description, is a crucial part of posting on WordPress. It’s a brief summary (around 155 characters) that appears in search engine results when someone searches for keywords related to your post.

  • With Yoast SEO or All in One SEO plugins: These popular plugins provide a dedicated field for entering your meta description within the post/page editor.
  • Without SEO plugins: You might need to look for a section titled “SEO” or “Meta Description” in the document settings and add your description there.
